Through individual gifts and support from partners like TAVÉ , the Friends have gifted more than $37 million since our founding to projects in every department at the Institute. We have supported rising talents - specifically junior researchers on the verge of new discoveries and internships to connect under-represented minority students with leading researchers at Dana-Farber. We provide volunteer support and funding for patient services programs like gift bags and friendly visits for patients undergoing treatment, emergency financial and legal support for patients and families, and help for patients accessing prostheses, wigs, and other personal care products.  

Through the generosity of TAVÉ shoppers and subscribers, we will fund women’s cancer research and patient care. Past projects funded have included:

• The Mammography Van and specific outreach programs to increase breast cancer screening in underserved communities

• Research into methods of reducing treatment resistance in women’s cancers

• Development of vaccines to kill cancer cells and prevent spreading

• Patient engagement programs to improve outcomes for older women with cancer

• Interventions that address treatment fatigue for women with advanced ovarian cancer

• Research focusing on ways to harness our immune systems to target women’s cancers and brain metastasis.
